National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP) Glossary Home An ANSI-accredited organization that promotes data interchange and processing standards to the pharmacy service sector of the healthcare industry. NCPDP maintains a number of standard formats for use by the retail pharmacy industry, some of which are included in the HIPAA mandates.   NCPDP creates and promotes interchange standards for the transfer of data to and from the pharmacy services sector of the healthcare industry.
